Interesting detail about our three named Changelings
Thorax - this body part of an insect is their "torso." It's where the heart is. Considering how he's making strides to guide his people to a kinder tomorrow, it makes sense to see him as the "beating heart" of the changeling people.
Pharynx - essentially the throat, Pharynx is charged with the defense of his people, ensuring that they do not become soft. In a way, he is the face of his people, what the rest of Equestria sees when they look to the changelings. He is their voice.
Ocellus - Referring to eyes, Ocellus is the first changeling to live peacefully among ponies outside of Thorax. She will likely use what she learns about friendship and share that knowledge with her kind, helping them integrate into Equestria and its people.
I was thinking about how each of these characters' names is for a different body part, and said part aligns with their apparent role in the hive. Therefore, if we're to take that seriously:
Thorax: Cor Populi - Heart of the People
Pharynx: Vox Populi - Voice of the People
Ocellus (and what started this thinking): Oculis Populi - Eyes of the People
