I'll start off with my own by NC Mares: https://ncmares.deviantart.com/art/Elegance-527579070
I've shared a few of my own pony dreams on this sub before, so I'm interested in hearing any of yours.
This is a weekly event coinciding (mostly) with NPT; off-topic and meta threads will be staggered so this week's off-topic thread is being submitted now and the meta thread will be post at noon Pacific time 12 hours from now. Next NPT will be the opposite! We do not ask that all off-topic discussion be kept to this submission; it is merely here as a courtesy and you are free to continue off-topic discussion in the comments of other submissions (off-topic submissions, however, are still a no-no). Read any good books lately? Have fun!
Hello and again welcome to your weekly dose of 'I forgot about that subreddit': 'This Week on the Plounge' wherein I inform you, the fine folks of the mane sub, what's been going on at your favourite sister subreddit, the Plounge, this past week.
Wait, what is this Plounge you speak of?
The Plounge, or more formally the MLP Lounge is /r/mylittlepony's sister subreddit. Designed to be a place where you can free of the tyranny of rules 3 and 4. A chill place for bronies or anyone to talk in a SFW chat centric environment. It can be found over at /r/MLPLounge. (most of us browse by /new though). Oh and BPM is nice to have. Even if you're allergic to using emotes yourself you'll miss a lot of extra context without it.
What some casual conversation with a sprinkling of ponies? Come over to this introductions thread and meet some people. Don't worry there's also a topic so it ain't just "hi!" "hi" awkward silence.

It's been awhile since the last one of these threads and episodes have come out in the meantime. I haven't seen much of Equestria Girls myself so whenever it's brought up, I'm curious to hear what people like in it overall. It seems so different from the regular series that as more comes out, I don't have a good frame of reference anymore. Whenever someone does say what they like, usually it's how they handled Sunset's character, the music, and then mention little else unique to the series. But I'm sure there's more to it than just those two elements. It's a long-running spin-off. There must be other things that draw people in right? So directly comparing Equestria Girls to the main series, can someone explain to me what they like about it? No matter how minor it is. Why do you watch Equestria Girls in general? What do you get out of it that is not in the regular series? Is there some aspect you think it handles absolutely better? How would you summarize the appeal?
Hard mode: Avoid mentioning sunset's development and the music. Those are common answers.
Looking at what hints we have of Equestria's government, it's a bit of a confusing hodgepodge of systems:
At the top, appear to be the Royal Sisters who seem to have more or less absolute power.
There are nobles and secondary royals - Fancy Pants, Blueblood - but exactly what they do isn't totally clear.
Towns and cities appear to have Mayors - presumably elected.
Secondary Princesses occupy varying roles, from "bookkeeper and local educator" to "ruler of an allied/subservient rump state".
There's also the "Duke of Maretonia", although it isn't clear if he's local or foreign.
There are also some important questions about how easy it is to reach some of Equestria's more remote areas. Sometimes they seem to be just a train ride away, but other times they're a major endeavor to reach. This has significant implications for how governance of regions distant from Canterlot would work!
So, with all of this in mind: What are your thoughts on how Equestria is governed? Parliamentary system of representation, or feudalistic? Do the Royal Sisters have lawful limits on their power, or merely the practical one of 'how far can you go before someone revolts'? Are there elected regional governors, or does nobility fill that goal? How do they manage governing of non-pony populations or holdouts within Equestria's borders? What legal powers does Twilight actually hold as a princess? Has any of this changed over the centuries of alicorn rule?
Feel free to answer any of these questions or just present your entirely unrelated own ideas!
It's been about eleven weeks since the last one of these threads. So, it's time for the next one!
This is the thread for discussing anything pertaining to Fanfiction in general. Like your ideas, thoughts, what you're reading, etc. This differs from my Fanfic Recommendation Link-Swap Thread, as that focuses primarily on recommendations. That will be posted in a few hours.
Although, if you like, you can talk about fics you don't necessarily recommend but found entertaining.
IMPORTANT NOTE. Thanks to /u/BookHorseBot (many thanks to their creator, /u/BitzLeon), you can now use the aforementioned bot to easily post the name, description, views, rating, tags, and a bunch of other information about a fic hosted on Fimfiction.net. All you need to do is include "{NAME OF STORY}" in your comment (without quotes), and the bot will look up the story and respond to your comment with the info. It makes sharing stories really convenient. You can even lookup multiple stories at once.
Is horse riding a sports?
Welcome to Equidae Talk where we talk about an equidae creature, living, extinct, and mythical that hasn't appear in the comics or show and how it may be use in them. Today equidae is the Hippalectryon.
What is it: A creature from Greek myth that has the front half of the horse and the back half and wings of a chicken.
How I would bring it into MLP: I would make it a hybrid of a griffon and a pony, and would bring it in by having Gilda show up in Ponyville with her cousin that is one. Who looking for work?
That how I would do it, how about you?
Welcome to Non-Pony Character Reboot where we discuss how to bring a non-pony non-villain character back into G4. Today character Dame Wash And Clean.
In G1: A comic Character Dame Wash And Clean was a fairy that was a washing woman which means she would wash laundry by hand. This is something some fairies did in myths.
How I would bring her back: A fairy who looking for work and Rarity hire her to would at one of her boutiques.
That how I would do it, how about you?
Hi there! It's Thursday again and that means another chance to talk about what's been happening around here and how you feel about it!
Same as every other time, feel free to discuss whatever it is you'd like regarding our little subreddit good or bad. If you're unhappy we'll try our best to fix whatever problem you're having!
If you want to talk about the MLP fandom in general, that's fine too!
But some people may not want to talk about comics or anything else that hasn't happened yet, so you should be nice and hide those conversations from those people by using the spoiler tag.
If you don't know how it's as easy as making an emote:
[It has ponies!](/spoiler)
Becomes: It has ponies!
And if you're not wanting to discuss the subreddit or community specifically you can also check out the weekly off-topic thread that will be up at noon Pacific time!!!!
