So I realized that we will be in the middle of the Hiatus for a while and so a thought occurred to me. Some of the highlights of watching the episodes from Season 8 as they premiered was reacting and discussing the episodes with y'all in real time. We are now starting the Season 9 rewatch today.

So following up on our previous thread, is the first three Rainbow Rocks Shorts "'Music To My Ears', "Guitar Centered", and "Hamstocalypse Now" . So go watch via whatever means you can and come back to discuss these shorts. I have never seen these before so this will be a treat I think.

This is the thread for discussing anything pertaining to Fanfiction in general. Like your ideas, thoughts, what you're reading, etc. This differs from my Fanfic Recommendation Link-Swap Thread, as that focuses primarily on recommendations. Every week these two threads will be posted at alternate times.

Although, if you like, you can talk about fics you don't necessarily recommend but found entertaining.

IMPORTANT NOTE. Thanks to /u/BookHorseBot (many thanks to their creator, /u/BitzLeon), you can now use the aforementioned bot to easily post the name, description, views, rating, tags, and a bunch of other information about a fic hosted on Fimfiction.net. All you need to do is include "{NAME OF STORY}" in your comment (without quotes), and the bot will look up the story and respond to your comment with the info. It makes sharing stories really convenient. You can even lookup multiple stories at once.

Any subtle things horses do to show affection?

I've had my horse Lili since December 2009, we go way back and I love her to bits. Thing is, I'm not sure if she actually enjoys my company? I know it's a pretty silly thing to worry about, but I travel quite a bit for my studies and I wonder if she's happy to see me when I come back and stuff. She's not a very affectionate horse, unless you have food she'll just sniff you a bit and that's about it. Occasionally if I'm sitting next to her she'll nibble my hair and mess it up a little, and on rare occasions she'll put her nose close to my neck and blow gently. When I see other horses in the stables, they're very affectionate and will always look for physical contact, will look out the box when you pass in front (mine only does that for feeding, she'll look out when she sees me standing but the moment she realises I don't have sweets for her she'll go back to eating hay). I know they're not supposed to be like dogs that go crazy everytime you come home and I'm not expecting her to neigh as soon as she sees me (she does it sometimes, but she also does it to the lady that takes care of the stables) I know that there not so obvious ways animals show their affection that you didn't necessarily realise was them saying "I like you!", dogs will stretch and sigh if they see you approach them and that shows affection for example. Is there something like that for horses? Sorry if it's a stupid question, I've just been wondering.

  2. Pinkie getting married to Cheese Sandwich.

  3. The birth of Lil Cheese.

  4. Rainbow Dash becoming captain of the Wonderbolts.

  5. Fluttershy moving in with Discord.

  6. The death of Granny Smith.

  7. The CMC becoming teachers at the School Of Friendship.

  8. The birth of Sugar Belle and Big Mac's foal.

  9. The Student Six defeating some sort of dinosaur-beetle-rhino monster.

  10. Flurry Heart ascending to the throne of the Crystal Empire.

...(and any that I have forgotten) what do you think they would be like?

Those leaked audio clips of the cast swearing in-character were hilarious, and they made me wonder: The characters don't swear because the show is TV-Y.

Horses spooks and pulls back

Hey y'all So my guy is a rescue, he's very much a one person horse and anyone else scares him. When the farrier come it freaks him out and he'll end up spooning and pulling back on the rope. I'm afraid he'll hurt himself or break something, but this never happens when it's just me working with him, so I was wondering if there's any way I can fix it? He's not being a brat, I can tell he's just really scared and my farrier agrees. Any suggestions?
