So the comic arc that just started with #51 is the first of a three-part arc that will tie in with Season 7 in an thus-far-unknown way. This leads to a situation where comic content could potentially be considered as "Future Episode Content."
So how are we handling it? Here's how we're handling it. Unless everyone hates how we're handling it.
Since the comic arc is setting up the season, we're treating it as simply part of the story. It's a part that comes sooner, but part of the story nevertheless. So we won't be spoilering it any differently from normal comics.
This means if, in a week, someone draws a character from the comic that will probably show up in the show, it won't be spoilered. That art will just be out there and you might click on it and learn something about a character that might be showing up in the show.
So if you hate seeing anything about a character or situation before you get to see it introduced in the story, then that means start reading the comics! They're not spoilers for the season, they're just setting it up. In the same way the Equestria Girls shorts set up the upcoming movies, they're something you should be reading if you want to keep up with the story.
Basically, these comics are not something to avoid so you can watch Season 7 'fresh'. It'd be more accurate to say you'd just be behind.
Every comic discussion thread has several methods to read it, so have at it! The comic spoiler period is a week, so content relating to FiM comic #51 will stop being spoilered on March 1st.
Do you disagree with this policy? We're welcome to opposing viewpoints, and if there's pretty unanimous opposition we'll change things.
