This is the official place to discuss the third issue of the IDW The Feats of Friendship My Little Pony comic! Spoilers within!
When Rarity is invited to three parties on Hearth's Warming Eve—one in Manehattan, one in Canterlot, and one at home in Ponyville—she is loathe to miss out on any of the fun, and decides that instead of deciding, she'll just go to all three! But between train rides, avalanches, and general distraction, this plan doesn't work out as well as she'd hoped... Plus, a very special extra story to warm your hearth this holiday season!
Keep any and all discussion relating to said comic in this thread! Making link submissions (say, from screencaps) is okay, but be sure to mark them as a spoiler and state what issue it is in the title for the benefit of those who might be behind!
(Want to get into the comics? Get 'em via IDW or eBay for physical copies, and Comixology, Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, or Yayponies for digital copies!)
Thanks to RainbowDashShellBash for compiling this information!
DELETE IF NOT ALOUD!
I made a new community for equestrians to give advice to fellow equestrians. It's called r/equestrianadvice !
I had to quit riding a couple years ago due to it just not being financially possible anymore for me/my parents to support it. I feel like there is a void in my life now as it has been my passion since I was 6 years old and until now (22 years old), I had ridden 1-3 times a week for almost my entire life.
I am hoping maybe others here have gone through the same thing and can relate. I have hopes of getting back to it later in life, but considering I am planning on pursuing a postgraduate degree, this probably won't be possible for at least another 5 years or so. I feel so heartbroken and lost without riding.
50+ year old dad here. Chop my own wood, drive a 1970 Holden, can track animals, used to be a slaughterman and drover (Aussie cowboy), and not afraid to be myself.
Back when I was in my 20s, I had a Little Mermaid backpack. Wore it everywhere. Why? Because I really like the Little Mermaid, it was a good backpack, and it let me know immediately which guys were insecure idiots.
If I was on public transport and I saw a guy smirking at my backpack, I was never bothered. I knew that if the two of us were dropped in the bush with nothing, I'd most likely be the one walking out alive. I didn't need to prove anything to them, and they'd already proved they weren't worth my time.
My Little Pony is awesome. It's *smart!* It teaches a great set of values with humour. It has songs! It shows that it's okay to ask for help, to be kind, to forgive, to believe in oneself, that one can push through and achieve great stuff.
But even if it weren't all those things - let people enjoy what they enjoy! My kids like Pokémon - I hate it with a passion. But I always make it clear to them that that's fine. They can like it, I can hate it, and it doesn't matter. I just ask them to watch it when I'm not around so I don't have to put up with it.
I nearly bought myself a Pinkie Pie soft toy the other day. Partially because I knew my kids would love it, partially because I like Pinkie Pie. But I'm trying t declutter at the moment, so I didn't.
But if they'd had a Fluttershy in stock, I'd have definitely bought that!
Even if I weren't a rough old bugger who likes and tries to protect venomous spiders and snakes, loves horror movies, Swedish Metal bands, Doctor Who, Batman, and is fond of the Princess Diaries and MLP - so what?
So what should you do? You should ask your son to show you three great episodes of MLP. You should non-judgementally watch them with him. And even if you hate the show, keep the negativity to yourself. Ask him what he likes about it? Take an interest.
