Hey all! I recently (recently as in I've had 1 lesson so far) at a new barn and it's AMAZING. Anyway, I'm on a 3 month break from uni and so on my days off of work I'd really like to go to the barn and help out where needed. Would it be rude to ask if I could do that? I don't know a whole lot about horses, and so would need to be shown the ropes so I'm concerned I'd be more of a burden than a help...
My girlfriends horse has a tendency to somehow destroy the blankets she has gotten him. She's found them ripped to pieces or torn up. They don't seem to last very long with him. The last blanket was a tough 1 brand blanket and lasted about a year. He is generally in a pasture with 8 other horses and we aren't sure how he's getting to them. Was curious if anyone had a suggestion on tougher brands they recommend I can get for her. Something that is more durable or will last a longer period of time. Or if anyone has had any experience with a moody horse that likes to terrorize blankets. Thanks!
TLDR; horse destroys turnout blankets. Suggestions on more durable brands welcome!
