I just hope they don't fuck up on writing or portraying villains in G5.

And i mean, I want to see G5 at least show their justification in their goals. instead of just pure nihilistic "take over/destroy the world for no clear reason". like they have a reasonable or misguided motive for their agenda but their means of achieving it are brutal so as to be seen as evil by the protagonists.

I mean for the case of Discord in G4. He could have had his own (misguided) worldviews as the spirit of disharmony. Something like seeing Harmony as justification for higher being to oppress and control the fates of many and seeing Chaos as "True" freedom. Thinking that it's the right way or the "natural" state of things.

This is the thread for discussing anything pertaining to Fanfiction in general. Like your ideas, thoughts, what you're reading, etc. This differs from my Fanfic Recommendation Link-Swap Thread, as that focuses primarily on recommendations. Every week these two threads will be posted at alternate times.

Although, if you like, you can talk about fics you don't necessarily recommend but found entertaining.

IMPORTANT NOTE. Thanks to /u/BookHorseBot (many thanks to their creator, /u/BitzLeon), you can now use the aforementioned bot to easily post the name, description, views, rating, tags, and a bunch of other information about a fic hosted on Fimfiction.net. All you need to do is include "{NAME OF STORY}" in your comment (without quotes), and the bot will look up the story and respond to your comment with the info. It makes sharing stories really convenient. You can even lookup multiple stories at once.

Being an extremely late joiner in the community and coming from a household where both my brothers held that mentality, i beg the question.

Because looking back and realizing it now, That belief is just ridiculous since there is nothing in the show that promotes homosexuality.

What are some neat, truly obscure background pony moments?

In other words, little things that happen in the background that are pretty amusing.

When I say truly obscure, I don't mean 'ohmygod, Derpy was cosplaying as an alicorn Princess and Fluttershy is a weeaboo because she had five anime trinkets in the one Nightmare Nights episode!' I mean really obscure stuff, be they quick gags, funny incidents, or other things.

So, to start off:

In The Last Roundup, right before Applejack leaves on the train to go to her rodeo, Pinkie Pie goes on a rant about candy and the eating thereof. While she's talking, Big Mac licks his lips in the background for a couple of seconds. So Pinkie is making him hungry, and he likes candy.

In Canterlot Boutique, when Rarity is selling her dresses, a background mare gets some sticker shock. Her whistling and eyeroll as she walks away really makes it.

In early episodes of the first few seasons, there is a background stallion nicknamed Goldengrape who is standing together with Daisy, a lot. Then in Season 4, while Twilight is pigging out on hayburgers and hayfries, this happens in the background. It takes a full season before him and Daisy are seen together again. He shows up depressed again in Season 6, only to get a big pick-me-up this time from Gabby!
