She is 17 years old and only halter broke, she came from a ranch for $500 as they were quick selling everything. My grandma thought we could breed her to her stallion so she would have a foal she could train up for her retirement. The plans fell through and I want to find a good home for her but we financially can not afford to keep a horse we don't ride (we board) my plan is to try to start her under saddle and work on getting her nicer for the vet/ferrier in order to give her the best possible future. She has great breeding and isn't a bad looking mare at all but I don't want to market her as a broodmare despite that being the only job she's ever had. Any other suggestions and does anyone think I'm on the right track? I do love this mare but I'm helping my family prioritize horses right now and she's going to be the most tricky one to sell with the most work needing to be done.

Anyone have a Tennessee Walking Horse that is a hard keeper? My 3 year old runs and runs all day and I am struggling to keep weight on him. He is out in a 40 acre pasture/woods. I will not have a stall for him until later this year.
Hi! My horse is beautiful and I'd like to do her justice and keep her coat, mane, and tail, shiny and healthy. I don't have much in the way of supplies where I'm at. I'm in a rural town in Colombia and have pretty limited options. Does anyone know which common household items or grocery store supplies I should/should not use? E.g. mineral oils, shampoos or conditioners etc?
Hi. I've been leasing a horse since last Sept. I've been riding for a really long time and owned my own horse before I had to retire her early (hock arthritis). I didn't want to buy again, so decided leasing was the way to go. This mare is really nice, except that she's a dirty stopper. I've brought her a long way in her flat, but now I'm wondering if she's really the right match for me. I mean, I can handle her stupid stuff. But I can't trust her with a course. Sometimes she'll sail over everything, and then turn around and refuse the lowest fence on the course. I'm not sure what to do, because I really like her.
