Being over 30 and brony
I love this fandom and refuse to leave it, let's start there. I'm 33, married, have 2 kids and own my own business doing nightly rentals in a tourist town. Most people would never guess I love ponies the way I do unless they went into my office in my home. I have plushies, books, wall scrolls, Shuxer59 sculptures, pictures ect... All gathered from my various trips to BC and BABS cons arranged and adorn throughout the 50sqft space. I'm refi'ing my home and today I had to have an appraisal done. This ment allowing a stranger into m home to take pictures and measurements and such. My office has been the way it has been for as long as I can remember now so I tend to forget the massive amount of ponage that's in there. At least until I hear 'WHOA!' shouted from my office. Followed by a 'whats with all the ponies wearing fallout stuff?'. I have been in my bubble so long that I honestly forgot how to talk to non bronies about Brony stuff. In shock I just pointed at my son and rolled my eyes. My son, a 7 year old kid, pointed back at me and said 'dont blame that on me!'. ROASTED! By the fruit of my own loins nonetheless. God I hope this doesn't hurt the appraisal lol.
