Liver chestnut or silver dapple?
A few months ago I met my friend's horse she had bought in January. Horse's name is Teja and she's a Lithuanian Zemaitukas mare :). But one thing has bothered us since then. What's her actual coat colour? Is it a dark chestnut horse with flaxen hair or is it rather a silver dapple (bay?)... In her passport the colour given is chestnut but we have our doubts... Horse's owner herself says it's not possible to rule any of them out based on her knowledge and it got to her so badly she's even considering a DNA test.
She has darker hair roots and brighter endings which which indicates a silver dapple but she doesn't really have very visible dapples on her legs (admittedly, in winter brighter colour on her legs was more noticeable).
What do you think? :) Is there some other signs and characteristics we should be looking for?
This is the picture she sent me but, to be fair, you can also find videos with Teja here.
P. S. My friend is quite shy about posting this herself, even though she's making videos like the one above.
