Spellcrafting in Equestria
So this is something that was only brought to mind thanks to a line in the 2nd issue of the Nightmare Knights, I highly recommend the comic line, where Trixie mentions that she writes up spells not for her audience but just to see if she can make them work.
Which is something that I have never really considered. We know that some spells are famously difficult to create or finish thanks to Season 3's finale, or was it 4 when Twilight had to finish Starswirl's spell? But others it seems can create spells on the fly or a whim which Trixie has shown the propensity for in the show itself when she returns with the Alicorn Amulet.
We KNOW that there is a study, I wouldn't call it a science, to Magic and that it can be taught but is Spellcrafting the same way? Is it a thing that only some Unicorns, or members of other outwards magic manipulating species, can do? Is it a rare skill? Or are there different methods and manners to spellcrafting that make it come easier to some ponies then others?
This is a fascinating subject that I have honestly never put much thought into and I would to know what y'all think of/on the subject.
