Does a goal get his gait from dam or sire?
I am planning on breeding my favorite mare this spring with a nice quarter horse stud. She is a gaited mustang. I am worried the foal will inherit her gait. She is a lovely ride, gait similar to a paso fino. However, I really would like a barrel horse prospect from this breeding for my daughter. I'm just wondering if the gait comes from sire or dam? Or is it a 50/50 shot? Thanks!
