Can you recommend a trainer to help my mule and I get in shape for a long distance ride (LA area)?
Eventually, I would like to be able to ride the length of the Pacific Crest Trail with my 5 year old Arabian molly mule. She's really great, but I only really ride her recreationally on short trails and I'd like to get her body and my skills in tip-top shape so that we'll eventually be able to make that ride safely. My wife and her 10 year old Arabian mare (my mule's dam) are working with a trainer already, but he recommended that I find a trainer with more experience and expertise working with mules than he has. I'm very particular about who works with and trains my animals, and am very into natural horsemanship, she's never had a bit in her mouth, anything but a traditional hackamore (bosal) on her face, and she's never felt a whip or a slap on her skin and that's the way it will remain, and I don't work with people who don't have a similar philosophy, so it can be difficult to find a good trainer.
Any recommendations?
