I've Been Out of the Fandom for 3-4 Years - What have I missed?

Hi Everypony!

As the title suggests I've been away from the fandom for quite some time now and I'm interested in coming back.

I stopped watching the show consistently while I was coming to the end of Year 10 at school (2014) and even then I wasn't keeping track of what was happening in the fandom. Now in 2017 I'm a first year Uni student and I'm interested in returning to the fandom. I'm interested in doing it in a unique way too.

I became a brony on 24/7/12 and back in the day I was as brony it came, I owned plushies and toys and had posters all around my room. I spent every waking moment browsing Equestria Daily and watching MLP Blind Commentaries, I literally lived and Breathed MLP. Even starting up my own commentaries on my channel too. Since then I've unlisted all my videos and become a bit more withdrawn due to pressures from school and overall having life become busy. Now I have some free time though and I'm curious.

The last episode I remember watching was the Season 4 Premier "Princess Twilight Sparkle" (Both Parts) and the 100th Episode "Slice of Life" with everything inbetween being a bit of a blur. I made a reaction video to the S4 Premier back when it came out but couldn't keep up so I ended up binging the episodes after that further down the line. You could ask me about anything in from Seasons 1-3, I've seen each episode at least 30 times and I could answer any question, but after that I haven't kept up.

So I mentioned earlier that I wanted to return in a unique way and I got a great idea. Since I used to do Blind Commentary/Reaction videos back in the day I wanted to return back in that same way. Even though back then my life was a mess watching MLP and doing blind commentaries was a highlight. I remember I was the first person to make a reaction to my own reaction, it ended up becoming a bit of a trend back then.

So the question is simple, since the Season 4 Premier what have I missed? What official things have come out? Fan projects and videos to check out? I saw there's a movie coming out.

And what do people think of my idea to return to the Blind Commentary scene? I'm personally really excited to go through with this despite being a really ambitious idea. I mean there's over 150 episodes out now, but I'm excited to watch every single one (including movies).
