Arthritis? Adequan?
Recently my 20 year old gelding with a muddled history of a neglect situation that almost cost him his life (and left him with a long-standing scar/leg injury on his left hind) was diagnosed with arthritis. This is hardly surprising, but as I haven't had to treat arthritis in horses previously, I thought I would ask if anyone here had any experience with Adequan and how that might compare to other products as well as joint supplements. Obviously supplements are more for prevention and in addition to medications that would relieve symptoms, but what are some suggestions and products people believe really help their horses?
