Work rant...
I am a volunteer at some stables I love going there. I help tack up horses for lessons, teach theory, and do small admin tasks. I'm a competent person and I feel confident in what I do.
So today I was there with an instructor getting some horses ready and this disabled guy comes in for a lesson with his carer who I think was his mum. Anyway, he likes to tack up his horse so I was opposite in the stable tending to another horse while the instructor was down the other end of the barn. I'm a friendly soul and chatted to his mum and him for a bit and they seemed perfectly nice and she asked if I worked there so I said yes.
A few minutes later the guy notices something on his horse and tries asking me about it. The mum then says without shame or trying to hide it: "Don't ask the young girl, she doesn't know anything about horses." My first thought was just ??????????????????? Like you literally asked if I work there lady I obviously know something and YOUNG GIRL??? I AM 18 I AM A WOMAN THANKYOUVERYMUCH.
Once I'd processed it I turned and said 'What don't I know?" And she said "Nothing, we'll wait for the instructor." RIGHTO WHATEVER.
Anyway when the instructor went over to see what they wanted they asked what a strange line on the horses rump was. I could've accepted this if the guy had asked it because I don't know what disability he had and the way his brain works but the mum was also curious and I lost my shit.
The line was the shine from the sun. I could've told you that. Bitch.
