Although, if you like, you can talk about fics you don't necessarily recommend but found entertaining.

IMPORTANT NOTE. Thanks to /u/BookHorseBot (many thanks to their creator, /u/BitzLeon), you can now use the aforementioned bot to easily post the name, description, views, rating, tags, and a bunch of other information about a fic hosted on Fimfiction.net. All you need to do is include "{NAME OF STORY}" in your comment (without quotes), and the bot will look up the story and respond to your comment with the info. It makes sharing stories really convenient. You can even lookup multiple stories at once.

The Power of Love and other Elements

So I was thinking back the other day to the Season 2 opening where we meet Princess Cadence, Shining Armor, Queen Chrysalis and the Changelings. I also remember it as being one of the few episodes where Princess Celestia is ever regarded as a threat by one of the villains. To the point where even after Chrysalis had drained the love Shining Armor had for Cadence she was shocked that she managed to take down Princess Celestia.

This just proved how powerful this element of love seemed to make her and just how powerful the love of Cadence and Shining Armor proved to be against the Changeling Horde, Chrysalis, and for holding out against a Siege by King Sombra. Which makes me wonder just how powerful other such emotions may be. There are few emotions that are felt as deeply and powerfully as love but if I had to posit a few I would hazard to guess that Hatred, Despair, and Hope possibly empower someone to a similar affect.

Unfortunately this is just a hypothesis based off of the show and fanon. We KNOW that Love is a incredibly powerful emotion that when used could create the strongest of shields and barriers towards the evils of the world. However outside of the Elements of Harmony we have few signifiers of other such specific emotion based magic being used or exemplified.

So ultimately I want to ask y'all what other emotions as powerful and deep as love could be used in a similar manner as what Queen Chrysalis, Princess Cadence, and Shining Armor have used it? How would you imagine these other emotions would be used and would they affect the wielders and their magic in different ways then the Love magic?
