Hello and again welcome to your weekly dose of 'That place still exists?': 'This Week on the Plounge' wherein I inform you, the fine folks of the mane sub, what's been going on at your favourite sister subreddit, the Plounge, this past week.
Wait, what is this Plounge you speak of?
The Plounge, or more formally the MLP Lounge is /r/mylittlepony's sister subreddit. Designed to be a place where you can free of the tyranny of rules 3 and 4. A chill place for bronies or anyone to talk in a SFW chat centric environment. It can be found over at /r/MLPLounge. (most of us browse by /new though). Oh and BPM is nice to have. You may not need it for yourself, but you will be missing out on tons of hidden ponies scattered across the forum.
What some casual conversation with a sprinkling of ponies? Come over to this introductions thread and meet some people.

When working in visual development it's all about getting ideas out and then seeing which ones work best for the character and story, then homing in on the ones that work and discarding the ones that don't. Sometimes there's an idea you love but it just isn't working, and you have to remove your ego from the process and say to yourself, "What is best for the movie?"
-Rebecca Dart, Art Director
It's been about a week since the last one of these threads. So, it's time for the next one!
This is the thread for discussing anything pertaining to Fanfiction in general. Like your ideas, thoughts, what you're reading, etc. This differs from my Fanfic Recommendation Link-Swap Thread, as that focuses primarily on recommendations.
Although, if you like, you can talk about fics you don't necessarily recommend but found entertaining.
IMPORTANT NOTE. Thanks to /u/BookHorseBot (many thanks to their creator, /u/BitzLeon), you can now use the aforementioned bot to easily post the name, description, views, rating, tags, and a bunch of other information about a fic hosted on Fimfiction.net. All you need to do is include "{NAME OF STORY}" in your comment (without quotes), and the bot will look up the story and respond to your comment with the info. It makes sharing stories really convenient. You can even lookup multiple stories at once.
I just "finished" this story about a human who wakes up as a voice in a pony's head;
You know these stories where somebody suddenly wakes up with a creepy, unknown voice in their head? Well that's what's happening to me, except I'm that strange voice, and I'm not stuck in somebody, I'm stuck in somePONY.
Unfortunately, it's cancelled, but I remember coming across other stories with similar plots; either a human being inside the mind of a pony, or a pony in the mind of a human, but I can't find them again now.
Does anyone remember story's similar to this they can point me to?
So, because it's No-Pics Thursday (August 31st, 2017) today, you know what that means...
It's time for the Weekly Fanfic Recommendation LINK-SWAP Game thread to continue!
Anyways, THE RULES (read 'em carefully):
Post a link to a fanfiction you like (can be your own as well - it's okay to self-promote), with or without a short blurb.
Important: Reply to someone else's post with a link to a fanfiction you think they might like, based on their choices.
Put each of your choices in a separate post if you want to make sure to get a recommendation based on each one. You may reply to someone else's reply, either to you or to someone else. Please make long discussion threads, they introduce a healthy bit of exploration and can help us find new interests! And that's it!
PLEASE COMPLETE BOTH STEPS 1 and 2. Don't just show up and ask for recommendations if you're not willing to provide any. I'll start the first few threads myself, and reply with a gentle reminder if you forget.

Ready? Set? LET"S GO! Also, feel free to self-promote in here!
Everybody has their creative side, and it natural to want to express it!
But for many of us, our ideas never come to fruition. Be it because we don't think our skill is up to the task, or we can't quite flesh out our idea in a way that we think can work, we think the idea has no merit, or we simply have other things to do with our time.
On the other hand, those who do revel in their creativity and love of expressing it often find themselves at an impasse. Artists need fresh ideas to feed their muses and to keep their creative juices flowing, at it were.
So let the world know your ideas! Describe to us your musings, no matter how unpolished or vague! Even bad ideas can lead to great works, so don't be shy and don't judge! Tell us what ethereal visions you would like to be made real! You could inspire others to take up your mantle, or at the very least help out people who may be mired in the creative doldrums.
Also, if you see someone come up with an idea that you've seen implemented somewhere, drop a link so it can be enjoyed by all.
For this, the first installment Inspiration Manifestation: tell us your fanfic ideas! If you have an idea for a plot or a setting, tell us about it.
Glimmy has really grown on me. I was a bit stubborn in disliking her just because she was yet another reformed villain, but I think she's a pretty great character now.
Hi there! It's Thursday again and that means another chance to talk about what's been happening around here and how you feel about it!
Same as every other time, feel free to discuss whatever it is you'd like regarding our little subreddit good or bad. If you're unhappy we'll try our best to fix whatever problem you're having!
If you want to talk about the MLP fandom in general, that's fine too!
But some people may not want to talk about comics or anything else that hasn't happened yet, so you should be nice and hide those conversations from those people by using the spoiler tag.
If you don't know how it's as easy as making an emote:
[It has ponies!](/spoiler)
Becomes: It has ponies!
And if you're not wanting to discuss the subreddit or community specifically you can also check out the weekly off-topic thread here!!!!!
In real life, legends are often changed, simplified or sugarcoated, from the historical events and figures that they were based on.
For this activity, let's imagine that the stories told in Campfire Tales are distorted versions of the truth, simplified from more complex events.
What "really" happened?
People who have read the book have been talking about what's been revealed about the previous versions of the film. Here's a rundown from TVTropes:
Tempest Shadow's current character is an evolution of Cosmos, Celestia's brother and the Big Bad in the original draft. From there, she became a pony composed of different animal parts like Discord, to one in a monstrous suit of armor that hid her identity, to a rugged survivalist who was more of an anti-hero than a villain.
The original concept for the Storm King had him as a three-eyed, quadrupedal creature resembling a cross between a dragon and a wolf. He was also more directly connected with storms, in the sense of being interpreted as almost a storm elemental.
One version of the film's opening would have featured the Storm King stealing his staff from the Arimaspi King, while another would have shown an aged Scorpan as the staff's original owner.
Various subplots, such as a lengthy trek though a massive, alien-looking forest beyond Equestria, to an encounter with an obnoxious "mud trolls" midway through the journey, were cut and/or shortened to condense the story.
Capper was originally a fox named Mendax, named after the Latin word for "liar", and he had a sentient scorpion's tail that expressed his true motives behind his cheerful facade. He also had a hidden deformity, such as an extra set of eyes or a pair of antennae, which Rarity would help him come to terms with. Besides a cat and fox, the artists also considered other species for Capper, including a black-footed ferret, a Siberian husky, and a honey badger. Another alternative name for him was Tybalt.
In a concept for Klugetown that even the artists themselves admitted was way to dark, the whole city would have been built around a colossal dragon skeleton that was impaled on a sharp mountain peak, where citizens mined its crystal heart. If not for The Journal of the Two Sisters (which is already ambiguously canon), this probably would've given some disturbing implications for the Crystal Empire.
Captain Celaeno was called Madame Harpy, and she and her crew were straight-up villains who would undergo a Heel–Face Turn, rather than just being friendly from the start. In addition, the designers toyed around with making the pirates dogs, monkeys and other things before settling on parrots/harpies.
Princess Skystar had two sisters named Haven Bay and Selina Blue, who became background characters to give Skystar a Friendless Background.
The climax would have featured a Big Damn Heroes moment involving the hippogriffs. Since this would have taken focus away from the Mane Six, it was changed to give them a more direct role.
There was an idea for the Mane Six to take on Super Modes in the final battle against the Storm King, but the creative team felt it was best left saved for the series.
In addition (I don't know if this is in the art book or not), TVTropes also gives a brief mention to the very first version revealed during the Sony hacks.
What is your ideal villain for the show right now? Do you want a return of the 80's style near omnipotent monsters that the ponies are just barely able to defeat? Or would you prefer a more subtle sneaky villain? Or maybe an antagonist thatisn't a villain at all, but a rival group for the Mane 6 to have to deal with?
Currently I'd like to see a treacherous villain. Someone that has gotten close to the girls suddenly revealing that they actually had nefarious intentions all along.
