I bought this girl as a weanling last year. I wouldn't say I'm completely new to the horse world but I'm not long time experienced, especially when it comes to names. I'm bad with them naturally. A few names I knew but other than that I went on her conformation. I was looking for my first solo project. She's got a fantastic turn, even as a baby. Good take off. Pretty and smart head on her shoulders. I'm hoping to put her in play days and trails. She's AQHA papered and I'm tentatively planning on finding a Secretariat stud to breed an Appendix once shes proven herself in her own right. (I will be keeping the foal, no worries there.)
Always curious of what people think of her breeding. I always get nasty remarks when I mention there is some Hancock way way back but shes never been anything but darling. Also get some pretty snooty looks when some of the newer big names don't show up on her lines, like Frenchman or Firewater. Big booty on her of course XD (Theres a photo of her a few posts down, the pally girl.)

When I first watched "Owl's Well That Ends Well", after Spike ran away, I thought he would encounter Zecora in the Everfree Forest, and she would tell him the owl was evil, so he would go home and find Twilight tied up, and he would have to fight Owlowiscious and save her. (I assumed he was a space alien because he appeared right after a meteor shower.)
Similarly, when I first saw "Family Appreciation Day", I thought it would have Granny Smith acting all senile at the school like Apple Bloom expected her to, before some Timberwolves attack the school and Granny fights them off.

The Plounge, or more formally the MLP Lounge is /r/mylittlepony's sister subreddit. Designed to be a place where you can free of the tyranny of rules 3 and 4. A chill place for bronies or anyone to talk in a SFW chat centric environment. It can be found over at /r/MLPLounge. (most of us browse by /new though). Oh and BPM is nice to have. Even if you're allergic to using emotes yourself you'll miss a lot of extra context without it.

Hello everyone!
I would like to hear your personal experiences with cross country horse transport companies (good, bad and ugly).
I do not need my horse shipped until summer, but I am trying to get a handle on prices and what to be on the lookout for when selecting a service. I have looked into a few and the price range is so wide it makes me wonder about why one is so much cheaper than the other...
A few things I am sure I want: a box stall, good communication from drivers and dispatchers, and the most expedited trip. I am ok with my horse being at a layover facility, but I also don't want him to be on and off a trailer for a week. He is being shipped from AL to CO.

As we now tick past eight years of the glorious madness that is this fandom, our gazes inevitably turn back - to our first moments of discovery, to the delightful revelation that not just did we enjoy this, but that there were others who enjoyed it too. Or perhaps you found the fandom before the show?
Now, wonder, what did originally draw all of you to this? Some of you, of course, are varying degree of "new" - though with our run now this long this can mean anything from "a few weeks" to "a few years". Others of you have been on this ride since the earliest seasons and from-nowhere explosion of popularity we rocketed skyward with.
So with this I ask: Without using the hindsight of things you've grown to appreciate now, what did you find promising or attractive about the show or fandom when you first found it? What made it stand out, at the time, to you? A character? A fanwork? An opinion, theory, or sub-group in the fandom?
EDIT: Stories about how you stumbled on the show are fine, but I'm mostly curious about what appealed to you when you did find it.
Ao I've taken to noticing something about the fandom, and indeed many fandoms over the years, that people who create their own OCs tend to be mocked for being dark or edgy or dorky or some other kind of insult. Quite frankly I don't really think that this is all that fair, especially when in many cases OCs are created out of an excitement for a show or video game.
So I figured why not take the time to not only share or create our own OCs, but share some favorite OCs that you have seen over the years for this show.
Don't worry I'll be sharing my own as well. First off would be Rose Eclipse from my first fanfiction, and one of my two projects as it were, who was the foalhood friend of Celestia and Luna back when they were all foals during Discord's reign over Equestria. When Discord takes a interest in the two immortal sisters as his new personal toys to break Rose attacked him and for his troubles had his horn cracked in half and thrown into the Frozen Tundra where he stumbles half dead into the Umbrum prison and after a struggle and the intervention of King Sombra becomes an Umbrum pony just as the king is. The story and character have not really progressed since then but it is still being worked on, slowly but surely.
My other main OC is a Thestral/Bat Pony by the name of Quick Silver in my ongoing MLP/Dark Souls story. Once a mercenary under the employ of the lords of Saddle Arabia and some merchants, Quick Silver was betrayed by his employers when he was discovered to have fallen under the Undead Curse and languished Forgotten in the Asylum until he was broken free by a dying knight by the name of Filthy Rich. Roguish, arrogant, and loves to talk to himself commenting on the surroundings, this Sabre wielding Thestral has taken on the duty of taking the Pilgramage.

I know there are some baking-related books, but I think a full cookbook would be awesome. I love cooking from fantasy cook books. Last year for Christmas dinner I made all recipes from my World of Warcraft cookbook (and it was amazing).
It would be vegetarian, of course. There are already some recipes online for savory oatcakes which is a good base for oat burgers. It also would need apple fritters, apple brown betties, various pies, salads, veggie sandwiches, and carrot dogs (although I'm not sure how tasty those would be).
What other recipes do you guys think would go in such a cookbook?
So over the years Sunset Shimmer has grown to become not only a incredibly fleshed our character but as a character that rivals Twilight Sparkle as he main character of her series in both character development and role in her group.
Unfortunately however Highschool does not last forever and the girls all appear to be in their Junior/Senior years so eventually the girls will end up going their separate ways in order to well... progress in life. Rarity will likely go full time into her Boutique or go and get a Business degree, Applejack has her farm that she is likely to take over from Granny Pie, Rainbow Dash will likely get's a sports scholarship and will try to go professional, Fluttershy I can see going to school become a Veterinarian, as Sci-Twi will be getting a doctorate in one or two degrees, Pinkie is a wild card. Trixie will possibly either go on with a career in music or stage magic. All that is left is Sunset Shimmer.
Personally I would love to see her either find some way to spilt her time between Equestria and EG world, or go back to Equestria as Celestia's protege once more and eventually become a princess as she was being reared to be. Of course she wouldn't be abandoning her friends, no none of them would ever stop being friends or making time for each other, but she would find a place where she could play her part.
What about the rest of y'all? Do you have any ideas on what the futures of Sunset Shimmer, and the rest of the EG cast, will be?
It was the winter, spring and following summer of my 6th grade year. I was 11/12 and one of my moms friends had brought several horses and had given me one of them as a birthday gift. Being a horse crazy little girl — it was a dream come true and I loved every minute of it. The fall of that year I showed up to the stable and all the horses were gone, they'd been sold I was told but I was never told to where or to whom.
Flash forward to now... I am 21 and while probably not financially stable enough to buy him back or anything crazy, I'd love to see (through pictures or in person) how he is doing! There's still that tiny little horse crazy girl inside of me and this has been eating me up for years.
Here's what I know / was told:
• would have been a yearling / 2 year old when originally sold
• would have been originally sold in Central Arkansas (USA)
• was originally registered with the AQUA as Zanax Man, Zan-X Man, Zan Ex Man or some variation
• pedigree had Zan Parr Bar & Peppy San Badger (not sure which was on top or bottom)
• Chestnut with two small, white socks on both rear legs and a white face blaze with small snip. Grey muzzle.

Where's the excitement everyone? Get hyped! It's not like the 2-parter leaked months in advance and thousands of people have already watched and discussed on their own thus forcing the remaining fans who wanted to stay spoiler-free to walk on eggshells for months on end so that we can watch the episode on schedule or anything like that...
Where are my speculation threads? How do you think the finale will play out this time? Here's the promo for the episode if you haven't seen it already! What are your expectations for this Saturday?
There are always things about the show I want to talk about, but I'd rather not always dedicate an entire full blown thread to it or it's never the right time to mention because no one would care. Maybe it's a thought that could be answered quickly enough to end discussion or something insignificant and stupid brewing in the back of your head for awhile! So I've been inspired these past few weeks to try out something new. Just as we have a dedicated Fanfiction Thread, Recommendation thread, Miscellaneous Thread, and other such threads I figured that something was missing and decided to see how popular this idea is.
So we have seen a LOT of fanart tossed around on this thread over the past near decade and though some have been lost to the sands of times others seem to stick in our minds and memories.
So With that said are there any pieces of Fanart that you personally love and appreciate? Why is that?Is it how the colors of the piece meld together to make the image so beautiful?
