Well as the title up ^ there asks what're y'all's favorite songs from the show. Now I was introduced to the show via the Canterlot Wedding episodes so BBBFF, This day Aria( YES) and Love is in Bloom hold a special place in my heart but I have to admit that there is one song that I adore more then the rest.

"Smile Smile Smile" As sung by Pinkie Pie. The song that quite literally makes me grin in happiness and lifts my spirits up. Not from the greatest episode mind you but dear gods I love and adore that song.

So we were watching Iron Chef last night. They were cooking dairy cow meat (Holstein.) The first round of raw stuff was kind of weird, in my opinion, but then the bald/shaved head guy put alfalfa hay on his roast and set it afire. I swear, I heard our horses screaming in protest from out in the barn.

Wait, what is this Plounge you speak of?

The Plounge, or more formally the MLP Lounge is /r/mylittlepony's sister subreddit. Designed to be a place where you can free of the tyranny of rules 3 and 4. A chill place for bronies or anyone to talk in a SFW chat centric environment. It can be found over at /r/MLPLounge. (most of us browse by /new though). Oh and BPM is nice to have. You may not need it for yourself, but you will be missing out on tons of hidden ponies scattered across the forum.

What some casual conversation with a sprinkling of ponies? Come over to this introductions thread and meet some people.

• GMBlackjack is starting a 'Ponymotes Legend' story thing, which seems like exactly the thing mane subbers would like. BPM is required though. Here's part 1 and part 2.

• How does a Plounge post made about 3 months ago lead to this here mane sub getting a new header? Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin.

  Okay, so remember like 3 months ago when Derpibooru decided to remove downvoting from their site (and replace it with hiding? Well that was poorly received and they quickly reverted it. Anyway AirfProject had created a set of OCs based on functions of Derpibooru's website: upvoting, downvoting, commenting and favouriting. So when downvoting was removed, what would happen to poor Downvote (the OC)? Hence why ArifProject created this piece.

  Which got posted to the Plounge. Here's where I come in. In response to another comment, I made the comment that someone should draw 'Unemployed Downvote living with Discentia'. (downvote ponies gotta stick together y'know)

  Fast foward to just this last week, and ArifProject (googling keywords around their art, 'cos y'know) finds that post. Finds my comment... and thus, it was done. - (direct)

  Arif later edits Discentia's pose from that into the post you saw as the fourth highest link post this week. Which they then, a day or so later, posted here on the mane sub, where your mod team decided to liase with them to get it into the header you see above you right now.

And that's how Equestria was made.

Can we talk about how wrong Rarity's flirting tactics are?

I don't know how to feel about this. Rarity is an objectively perfect god pony but I always felt that her flirting with other ponies was easily the worst aspect of her characterization and should be removed entierly. Thankfully its extremely rare to see in the series, but I don't like the way she flirts with others. Look at this scene from "Putting your Hoof Down." She is clearly taking advantage of that pony by leading him on to get what she wants, and then leaves without a second thought afterward. Then the episode treats it as if she was right in doing so and says Fluttershy should do the same. She obviously doesn't find him attractive (Because she likes fancy ponies like Prince Blueblood or Trenderhoof) but pretends like she is to get the asparagus. The guy was fine with the trade at the end but it was a pretty shit thing to do and she's done it other times in the series. I don't have too much of a problem with it because she doesn't have any actual bad intentions and the interactions are very short, but she knows what's she's doing to others. This is why I'm confused at her friendship with Spike. She absolutely isn't flirting with Spike because he's a child and her close friend, but even if by accident the way she tends to act would easily convince a child like him he has a chance in the first place. If Rarity understands how her actions can make someone like her, I don't understand why she can't see how Spike feels. This scene was just sad. Rarity is an adult, she should have said something by now. Its been 7 Seasons now and its holding both of their characters back. Is the situation with Spike an unrelated issue from her occasionally flirting with regular ponies? Maybe? I don't know at this point. If she never flirted with normal ponies I'd totally be willing to accept her never noticing Spike's crush but she does and so I'm confused. I think Rarity is wrong to lead people on like this even if it is briefly. Its a children's show and I feel uncomfortable with seeing her willingly flirt with others to get what she wants. I'm glad this part of her has been slowly dying off as the series progresses. And I don't mean just acting nice and being friendly, I mean actual flirtation tactics purely to get what she wants. She only does it because it works, not because it fits with her dream of high society at all. The only time it actually fit in an episode was when she was a detective. She's already capable of convincing others to get what she wants in other ways, but actually flirting with some of them is a line that shouldn't be crossed.

I really hope this thread doesn't turn out badly. I still like Rarity, I just dislike this small part of her. How do you feel about Rarity occasionally flirting with other ponies in the series? Should it remain part of her character? Are you indifferent because of how rare it is to see? How does Spike fit into all this? Does it fit her character as the element of generosity?

I thought not. It's not a story Hasbro would tell you. Shimmy was a magic unicorn so cute and smart, she could use the Elements of Magic to turn into a sexy demon. She was so popular the movie had like four sequels.

The Equestria Girls series is a pathway to lore that some considered... noncanonical.

She became so powerful, the only thing she was afraid of was not being canon. Which, of course, she was. She taught her apprentice everything she knew, then her apprentice completely took over the TV show. Ironic. She could make other characters canon, but not herself.

Nightmare Moon wings, don't get me wrong I love the rest of her; her black as the abyss coating , glowing blue green reptilian eyes, the ethereal mane and tale that seemed to grow and fill the room, but her little wings and how oddly shaped they are have ALWAYS bugged me! Those of you not born into horse owning, how did you get started?

I've been interested in horses all my life, and now that I'm 19 and been out of high school for a year I'm looking to finally achieve my interest. I was looking into either volunteering at a local stable, and/or going for an Equine Science degree at a school not far away from me. The dream is to own my own horse(s), but obviously that's years down the line, if it ever happens at all. I'm just not sure where the best place to begin learning and training is. I really appropriate any responses, it means a lot to me.
