It's time for the Weekly Fanfic Recommendation LINK-SWAP Game thread to continue!
Anyways, THE RULES (read 'em carefully):
Post a link to a fanfiction you like (can be your own as well - it's okay to self-promote), with or without a short blurb.
Important: Reply to someone else's post with a link to a fanfiction you think they might like, based on their choices.
Put each of your choices in a separate post if you want to make sure to get a recommendation based on each one. You may reply to someone else's reply, either to you or to someone else. Please make long discussion threads, they introduce a healthy bit of exploration and can help us find new interests! And that's it!

IMPORTANT NOTE. Thanks to /u/BookHorseBot (many thanks to their creator, /u/BitzLeon), you can now use the aforementioned bot to easily post the name, description, views, rating, tags, and a bunch of other information about a fic hosted on Fimfiction.net. All you need to do is include "{NAME OF STORY}" in your comment (without quotes), and the bot will look up the story and respond to your comment with the info. If my memory and searching skills doesn't fail me, then Celestia said "Pinkie" for the first time in the newest episode, Horse Play (not counting comics). That took a while, considering she said the name of the rest already in the first two seasons.

I rewatched some S1 episodes, and one of my favorite things about the early seasons was how Ponyville had a small-town feel to it. Like in Fall Weather Friends, when the townsponies gathered to watch Rainbow and AJ's competition. I don't really get that feel in the newer seasons.

Out of pure curiosity for years of how so many adults can love this show, I have decided to give it a shot. I'm just curious if there is a recommended watching order? Along with the show, Ik there is a movie, a human spinoff show(?) and a lot of shorts. What should I watch when?
Origin stories, civil wars, sequels, prequels, milestones--the possibilities are endless!
For me, I'd pick the leader of The Mighty Helm, Steela Oresdottir. I really love her design, and it's not often that you see a larger than average built mare that doesn't have the thin and waspish body type of Fleur dis Lee or the Mane-Iac.
I also think it's pretty cool that the strongest pony of legend, Rockhoof, calls her captain and looks up to her. She's kind of got that Xena, warrior princess vibe going on. While there are more than a few magically adept mares in the show, it'd be cool to see one that was more physically powerful.
Runner up would be Princess Luna's pet possum, Tiberius.
