What If: Under a different Ruler
We have seen the land of Equestria be ruled by Princess Celestia for around 8 seasons now and though she has made a few mistakes here or there she has proven to be a rather apt ruler.
But what if she hadn't been the one ruling Equestria during the time of the show? What if she had been replaced? By Daybreaker? By Nightmare Moon? Hell by Sombra? How might things had changed if one of these other rulers had been ruling the realm? If they had been the ones adopting Princess Cadence and training Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle as their students? Would events still turn out the same?
How would things change when Nightmare Moon or Princess Celestia returned during the Summer Solstice as Twilight and her friends raced to find the Elements of Harmony to stop them?
And how do you imagine that other events might go throughout the series if there was a different ruler in charge? During the Grand Galloping Gala? The Canterlot Wedding? Twilight's Alicornification?
