How long do you believe the fandom will go on for after FiM is done?

Fandoms of famous franchises created over decades ago (Star Trek) are still going strong today. Fanfictions, fan films, and other general fan content are still being produced and inspiring others (The Orville). Pokemon is still going through new generations and continues to cultivate fans across the world.

The brony community has no doubt made as much an influence as other fandoms in just the 9 years it's been around. And even if FiM is coming to an end in a couple weeks, we still have another movie, and Gen 5 on the way.

How long do you think the fandom will continue to thrive? As long as the franchise thrives? A few more years? Decades?

I personally hope it lasts a good few decades, if not more. It would be a shame for the fandom to suddenly dissolve over the next few years to a trickle. At the same time, I couldn't see it happening, especially if it was able to bring together millions of people and countless conventions that continue to run every year, with plans long into the 2020s. I know decades is a stretch, but I think it's a genuinely fun franchise, with good storytelling and world building opportunity, if handled by the right people. Sure, it may be a franchise for little girls, but I think bronies have shown it to be for more, given the chance.
