Anyone remember Princess Skyla?
For those not in the know, Princess Skyla was a baby alicorn toy released in late 2012. We all thought that she was going to be Shining and Cadance's foal, but that didn't happen. At least not in Season 3.
In Season 5, Cadance became pregnant, and we thought she was going to give birth to Skyla...but it turned out to be Princess Flurry Heart, a whole new character.
I have a theory that they were planning Cadance's pregnancy as far back as Season 3, and Skyla was the original name and design for the foal. But they cut it because they had no room for such a storyline, since S3 was such a short season, but they released the toy anyway just because. The reason the foal in S6 had a different name and design was because they thought it would be odd to base a character off of a toy made three years ago.
