Belly tenderness?
My 9-year old paint gelding is displaying some belly tenderness all of a sudden. He swishes his tail, kicks up with his leg, and spins his head around when I brush under his belly. It's worse around his girth area, but he's responsive to his whole belly being touched. All of this is new to him and started a few days ago. My first thought is ulcer, but he doesn't have any other symptoms; appetite is good, manure is a normal solid, coat health isn't suffering, rides like normal, acts normal in the paddock and doesn't look or act like he's uncomfortable. Any other thoughts on what this could be?
