#horses - #Fellow horse Buyers: Beware of Purchasing from Cranbury Auction House.

Fellow horse Buyers: Beware of Purchasing from Cranbury Auction House.

On October 11 I purchased a pony for 450 dollars plus taxes and sale fees. This was purchased online with no advertising of it being sick or ill, and was advertised as a healthy pony, great to ride. I picked him up at roughly 9 am the following morning. The pony looked practically deceased in its stall with conjunctivitis, and was brought home and assessed by a veterinarian who specializes with equine. The pony was said to have a fever, and had blood drawn, vaccinated, and treated for conjunctivitis at that time. When receiving the results of the pony it was thought to be living with salmonella. The pony was advised to be treated with bolus iv fluids, electrolyte replacements, iron, and antibiotics to treat the infection and was advised to be transferred to New Bolton where it could be cared for with no guarantee of survival. Less than 48 hours past this, the pony developed respiratory distress, heart rates of 80 plus, and on and off treatment of fevers. He ultimately had to be put down due to him suffering and the very poor outcome of treatment. Post burying the pony, I called the auction stable and left four messages before calling a fifth time in three days time asking for a refund to cover the thousand dollars in accumulated vet bills. I was advised that they would call me back and did not hear from anyone until today where I called three times before hearing from someone. The guys name was Danny who did not care whatsoever, and said he had horses he spends several thousands on die next day. They would not offer the refund of 450 due to them having a sign present which was not advertised at their online sales. Regardless this was their business and I advise anyone who considers business with this purposeless place to not do so due to their inability to care for animals, unhealthy conditions they subject these animals to, and the overall health of animals being sold for the pure purpose of profit. I would not waste a breath on this place and will be working with my attorney, as well as various boards in New Jersey to have this place shut down.
