Ration Balancers
Does anybody have experience switching an easy keeper from grain to a ration balancer? She gets about 12 lbs of hay a day, and I'm going to add 2 lbs of watered down alfalfa pellets to each RB feeding, specifically Buckeye Nutrition Gro n Win. She was recently diagnosed with heaves and has never had any problems keeping weight, so I'm trying to reduce feed costs as much as possible even if I only end up saving like $10. After her vet bills, medication and new supplements, the $10 a month will be nice to have.
Do any of you feed your horses ration balancers? Did you switch from grain? I'd love to see how your horses look on one, and before and after pictures are especially welcomed!
