Something regarding the villains of the 2017 movie that I hope happens...
According to TVTropes, Tempest Shadow and Grubber are actually friends because he is the first creature to react to her horn with awe and wonder rather than fear.
What if, in the movie, Tempest and Grubber basically have a villainous Twilight & Spike situation?
Then, Tempest Shadow's (inevitable) Heel-Face Turn is brought about when the Storm King hurts Grubber in some way (like striking him with lightning or smacking him across the room)?
Maybe not right away, but that would be the little snowball that starts Tempest's redemption, especially if Twilight Sparkle sees it and uses it against Tempest's viewpoint.
It's just an interesting thought.
