Advice wanted for Horse Tack. Help an old man keep his horses!
Apologies if this is not the best place for this post. My 66 year old father has a team of haflingers with which he runs a small sleigh ride business in his retirement. He loves it, and having the two horses to care for seems to keep him healthy and active, it's a real positive thing in his life.
However he just admitted to me that he doesn't think he can do it anymore, because working the reins while driving the sleigh aggravates the arthritis in his wrists.
Does anyone here know of any alternative set-up for controlling the horses that wouldn't require as much strain on his wrists? Any website/forum links to investigate or alternative ways of holding them would also be appreciated. Thanks!
